Subject
The subject of the competition : Designing Mural Paintings to enhance the appearance of the city of Makkah.
The designs of the murals should be inspired by and reflect the followings :
1) Items and symbols of the Makkah’ s culture and environment manifested in the traditional architectural elements , and traditional artifacts . 2) The Islamic heritage which includes the , elements of arabesque both geometrical and floral, and the utilization of Arabic calligraphy in it various forms.
The objectives of the competition:
Competition Objectives :
l1) To highlight the spirit of competition among the artists participating in Makkah Beautification Project, within the framework of freedom of expression and with sense of formal composition bound by the Islamic conception of art .
l2) To make Makkah an open museum for all the people who love and admire public art.
l3) To strengthen the relationship between society and art and to cultivate aesthetic taste in the community
